Recent creationism and plain bad science being taught in Queensland schools:

Religious Instruction (RI) classes are taught by volunteers from the churches, not by teachers, and there is really no control at all of what kids are taught. Parents can opt their children out, but it takes effort and there are few meaningful alternatives.

That’s really awful. I don’t think it’s a good idea to have religious instruction in schools at all, but it seems that they picked the least informed people to teach the classes. “Plain bad science” is far too gentle; someone ought to file a lawsuit or something and save those kids before they start believing that DNA didn’t exist 6,000 years ago.
